It’s important to note that skin cancer and pre-cancerous conditions are still common in the UK, despite the lack of sun. As knowledge about these conditions grows, so does concern among people, leading to increased mindfulness about skin health and mortality. Ultraviolet light is the primary cause of skin cancers, and some individuals are at a higher risk than others. Early detection of skin cancers significantly improves the chances of a cure. The risk of Melanoma increases with age and is the 5th most common cancer in the UK, according to Cancer Research UK. Often, lesions may go unnoticed if they are in areas that people cannot easily see, such as the back and back of the thighs.
At Panacea Skin Clinic, we offer mole mapping sessions. This involves examining your moles using dermoscopy,** taking photos of them with your consent, and then mapping them to an image of your body. This information will be added to your medical records for future reference. We will refer you to your GP for further assessment and treatment through the NHS if we find any suspicious lesions. We recommend that you have mole mapping annually so that any changes in your moles can be detected early and addressed. Typically, this session takes 60-90 minutes.
Book a consultation today using contact@panaceaskin.co.uk – let us know that you are interested in mole mapping and we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
