Mole and Skin Tag Removal

Skin Tags are harmless appendages on the skin, they are soft, fleshy, and skin-coloured lesions usually found in areas of friction such as on the neck, armpits, eyelids, under the breasts, between the thighs, and around the buttocks. They are painless but can become irritated, sore, and bleed if they get caught on clothing, etc. They are often confused with warts or moles but an appropriate clinician will be able to tell them apart. Skin tags can be singular but are often found in clusters.  Skin tags can also be treated successfully with Cryotherapy but this can be painful and take 2-3 weeks for them to fall off.

Moles are small, coloured spots on the skin.  Most people will have them and they are usually harmless and nothing to worry about unless they change size, shape, or colour, which could be an early sign of skin cancer.  Moles can be raised, flat, or even have hair growing out of them, and are often darker on dark skin.  People may find their moles unsightly and wish to have them removed, a procedure considered cosmetic and rarely available on the NHS without special funding.
